12A · Joints up to 1kV

Heat shrinkabe joints for any kind of low voltage cable

12A1 :: Heat-Shrinkable Joints up to 1 kV

The insulating and sealing performance of Raychem heat-shrinkable materials has been demonstrated in the course of over 45 years' use in power engineering. These proven materials form the basis for Raychem inline joints for cables up to 1 kV. While fully comparable in ease and speed of installation to other modern methods, Raychem joints also eliminate mixing, pouring and topping-up delays, as they require no jointing compound or resin. This feature cuts out curing time and enables the joints to be buried immediately. As the joint components are of heat-shrinkable material, they can also be held in stock in varying climatic conditions without risk of long-term deterioration.

12A2 :: Cast Resing Joints up to 1 kV

Straight or branch joints for 0.6/1 kV extruded cables: easily installed, composed of two anti-fracture plastic shells, to be filled with bicomponent epoxy resin such as Rayresin. For installation in traps, channels or directly underground.

12A3 :: Gel Filling Joints up to 1 kV

Joints for extruded cables F(R)G7OR 0.6/1 kV. Easy installation, composed of two anti-fracture plastic shells, to be filled with non-toxic quick cross linking bicomponent insulation with no shelf life, Magic Gel type. Suitable for installation in traps, channels or directly underground or under water. Non-toxic, safe, light and re-enterable. Thanks to the softness of the insulation, they are able to absorb external shock without cracking or fracturing. The extreme stickiness of the insulation, together with its softness allow it to transmit water pressure for installation even at high depths. Thanks to the materials used, joints are completely nontoxic, safe, re-enterable even after long periods of operation.

12A4 :: Pre-filled Gel Joints up to 1 kV

The combination of the primary insulation in a cross-linked polymer gel and the highly ro- bust insulating plastic case makes this a Class 2 joint defined by CEI 64-8. The joint has been tested in accordance with the main international spécifications, with repeated flexing and torsion tests and immersion in water, it has been declared as conforming to the mechanical, electrical and sealing specifications required for plastic cable accessories. The joint and its components have an unlimited shelf life, they are chemically inert and therefore completely safe; the connections are re-entrable even after long working periods. Made of self-extin- guishing components the joint is flame retardant. For cables at 90°C working temperature.
